Kampala, 10 September 2026 – The National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) today engaged with the Bank of Uganda (BoU) as part of the ongoing mid-term review of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy II (NFIS II), 2023–2028.

The engagement followed an invitation from the Bank of Uganda, which is mandated to coordinate the implementation, monitoring and reporting of NFIS II.

The discussions provided an opportunity to reflect on the role of education, financial literacy and institutional collaboration in supporting broader financial inclusion objectives.

NFIS II seeks to promote universal access to and use of a broad range of quality and affordable formal financial products and services delivered in a sustainable manner. Its priority areas include reducing barriers to financial services, deepening the use of quality financial products, strengthening financial consumer protection and capability, developing inclusive green finance, and promoting gender-inclusive finance.

The Strategy is being implemented through collaboration among government institutions, financial-sector regulators, private-sector actors and other stakeholders, with the Bank of Uganda serving as the secretariat for the strategy.
