A team from NCDC showcased some of the teaching and learning aids for young learners and materials produced by the Science and Technology Equipment Production Department (STEPD) to facilitate the teaching of science subjects.
The exhibition team responded to inquiries from the public about the work of the Centre and guided visitors to access curriculum resources on the NCDC website.
World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5th October to celebrate all teachers around the globe. It commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers, and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.
World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated since 1994 to celebrate the important contribution of teachers in transforming education. It is also held to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.
