Welcome to the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) website! NCDC is a government agency established in 1973, by an Act of Parliament Cap 254 of the laws of Uganda. In line with our mandate of developing curricula for Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary education, we are dedicated to shaping learning that is relevant, inclusive and responsive to the evolving needs of society. We execute that mandate through rigorous research, benchmarking against global best practices and engaging stakeholders to ensure that learners acquire the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes necessary to thrive in a dynamic world. In addition, we evaluate, vet and approve other curricula and related materials to be used in schools, in a bid to safeguard quality and consistency in the education offered to Ugandans. Beyond curriculum development and design, the Centre provides in-service training and orientation on the developed/reviewed curricula, and consultancy services to educators and other stakeholders. We embrace collaboration, innovation, and adaptability as guiding principles, as well as support national priorities such as digital learning, vocational pathways and lifelong education. As we continue to shape the future of Uganda’s education, we invite you to explore our services, share your experiences, and partner with us in building a strong foundation for learners and communities across the country.
