Government Launches LëbThur Orthography to Promote Indigenous Language Literacy


The Government of Uganda, through the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC), participated in the launch of the LëbThur Orthography to support the reading, writing and preservation of LëbThur, an indigenous language spoken by the Ethur community in Abim District. The orthography was officially launched on 20th June 2026 at Abim Secondary School in Abim District, marking an important milestone in efforts to promote indigenous languages and strengthen mother tongue literacy in Uganda.
